Welcome to Taste Tutor. By accessing this website, purchasing products, registering for classes or events, or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

1.       SERVICES

Taste Tutor provides cooking classes, culinary demonstrations, catering services, digital content, educational materials, and related products and services.

2.       ORDERS AND PAYMENT

Payment is due at the time of purchase unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Prices are subject to change without notice.

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order at our discretion.

3.       EVENTS AND CLASSES

Class schedules, menus, instructors, locations, and event details may change when necessary, due to weather, ingredient availability, illness, safety concerns, or circumstances beyond our control.

We reserve the right to cancel, postpone, or reschedule events.

4.       PARTICIPANT RESPONSIBILITY

Participants are responsible for:

  • Following all safety instructions

  • Disclosing relevant allergies when requested

  • Using cooking equipment safely

  • Supervising any minors in their care

5.       INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

All recipes, videos, photographs, course materials, educational content, branding, logos, and website content remain the property of Taste Tutor unless otherwise stated.

Materials may not be reproduced, distributed, sold, or republished without written permission.

6.       WEBSITE USE

Cancellation & Refund Policy

CLASS, EVENT, AND TICKET POLICY

All ticket purchases for Taste Tutor classes, workshops, demonstrations, supper clubs, and special events are subject to the following policy.

TICKET SALES

Because class sizes are limited and ingredients are purchased in advance, all ticket sales are generally non-refundable.

TRANSFERS

If you cannot attend, you may transfer your ticket to another person by notifying us at least 24 hours before the event.

RESCHEDULING

If sufficient notice is provided, we may, at our sole discretion, issue a credit toward a future event.

NO-SHOWS

No refunds or credits will be issued for no-shows.

EVENT CANCELLATION BY TASTE TUTOR

If Taste Tutor cancels an event, participants will receive either:

  • A full refund, or

  • The option to transfer registration to a future event

WEATHER AND EMERGENCIES

In cases of severe weather, emergencies, instructor illness, venue issues, or circumstances beyond our control, events may be postponed or rescheduled.

PRIVATE EVENTS

Deposits for private events and catering services may be subject to separate written agreements.

FOOD ALLERGY AND PARTICIPATION DISCLAIMER

Taste Tutor strives to create safe and enjoyable culinary experiences for all participants.

ALLERGEN DISCLOSURE

Classes, demonstrations, catering services, and events may involve common allergens including but not limited to:

  • Milk

  • Eggs

  • Wheat

  • Soy

  • Peanuts

  • Tree nuts

  • Fish

  • Shellfish

  • Sesame

  • Coconut

  • Celery

Cross-contact may occur despite reasonable precautions.

DIETARY RESTRICTIONS

Participants are encouraged to disclose allergies and dietary restrictions before attending an event.

Although reasonable efforts may be made to accommodate dietary needs, Taste Tutor cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment.

ASSUMPTION OF RISK

By participating in any Taste Tutor activity, you acknowledge and accept the inherent risks associated with food preparation, cooking equipment, knives, hot surfaces, and food consumption.

RELEASE OF LIABILITY

To the fullest extent permitted by law, participants voluntarily assume all risks associated with participation and release Taste Tutor and its owners, employees, contractors, volunteers, and representatives from liability for injuries, allergic reactions, property damage, or losses arising from participation.

MEDICAL EMERGENCIES

Participants are responsible for carrying any necessary medications, including epinephrine auto-injectors, and for seeking appropriate medical care when necessary.

PHOTOGRAPHY AND MEDIA

Taste Tutor may photograph or record events for promotional, educational, and marketing purposes.

By attending, participants grant permission for the use of their likeness unless they notify us in writing before the event.


CATERING POLICY

CATERING POLICY

Policies subject to change.

PRICING INCLUDES

Initial consultation, menu planning, cooking of meals, labels with dish names, descriptions, and possible allergens, travel (Shoreline to Tacoma), delivery/drop-off of food at venue. All catering options are drop off buffet self-service.  

INVOICE

Because menus are highly customizable, budget and pricing will be discussed at consultation. Invoice containing a quote will be sent out within 72 hours after consultation. All quoted prices include Washington state and local sales tax and service charges.  

DEPOSIT

Upon confirmation of service, please pay deposit of 50% of total balance 1 week (7 days) prior to event date.  

GUESTS

Please provide final guest count at time of deposit payment to ensure we have enough for everyone to enjoy. Maximum of 100 guests for catered events. 

FINAL PAYMENT

Remaining balance is due on event date at the latest. Please pay via payment link provided with invoice.  

MINIMUM ORDER

$1500 minimum order for catering service. Each catering order requires a minimum of 10 servings per menu item. 

SET UP

$2000 minimum order for set up of catered items.  

NEED TO CANCEL?

Cancel up to 5 days prior to event for full refund. Cancel up to 2 days prior to event for 50% refund. If cancellation is needed 1 day prior to event date, 100% of the catering cost is charged.  

NEED TO MAKE A LAST MINUTE CHANGE?

Any large changes to the catering agreement 5 or less days prior to event will incur a fee of 5% of total catering cost added to the final balance. 

NEED ADDITIONAL SUPPLIES?

Taste Tutor will provide plates, utensils, cups, plates, napkins, chafing dishes, and chafing fuel, upon request, at an additional charge. Please specify event needs in catering service questionnaire. Taste Tutor does not offer any linens, glass or China dinnerware or drinkware, table, or chair rentals at this time.  

ALLERGIES

Please articulate any allergies, dietary restrictions, substitution requests, etc. during the initial consultation.  

DIETARY PREFERENCES

We'd be happy to accommodate Halal, Vegan, Gluten Free, and other dietary preferences or needs. Please articulate these during the initial consultation.  

EXTRAS

Taste Tutor will not be liable for any catered food removed from the venue.
