Gullah Okra & Shrimp with Roasted Butternut Squash

PREP IT!             

Roasted Butternut Squash

Gullah Okra & Shrimp

  • 4 tablespoons Olive oil

  • 1 tablespoon Taste Tutor Smoked 101 or Taste Tutor Seasoning 101

  • 1 pound Shrimp, raw, cleaned and peeled

  • 2 pounds Okra, fresh, halved

  • 2 large Red onion, sliced

  • 12 cloves Garlic, minced

  • 1 teaspoon Ginger, fresh, minced

  • 2 stalks Green onion, sliced

MAKE IT!

For Roasted Butternut Squash

  1. Preheat oven to 425F.

  2. Toss butternut squash in oil and Taste Tutor Smoked 101 or Taste Tutor Seasoning 101.

  3. Spread butternut squash, with space in between each piece, in a single layer, on a large foil or parchment lined baking sheet. Place baking sheet on the bottom rack of the oven.

  4. Roast butternut squash for 25 to 30 minutes or until slightly charred and desired crispness is reached.

  5. Enjoy!

For Gullah Okra & Shrimp

  1. In a hot pan, over high heat, sauté 1 tablespoon oil, shrimp, and 1 teaspoon Taste Tutor Smoked 101 or Taste Tutor Seasoning 101 together until shrimp is cooked. Remove shrimp from heat and set aside.

  2. In a hot pan, over high heat, sauté 1 tablespoon oil and okra together for 10 minutes to get a char on the okra. Remove okra from heat and set aside.

  3. To the same pan, reduce heat to medium high, add remaining oil, onion, garlic, and ginger. Sauté for 3 minutes.

  4. Add back okra and shrimp. Sprinkle with remaining Taste Tutor Smoked 101 or Taste Tutor Seasoning 101.

  5. Serve okra and shrimp with roasted butternut squash. Sprinkle everything with green onions. Enjoy!

Reheat leftovers: on the stovetop or in the microwave.
