LAVENDER LEAF CHAI

Lavender Leaf Chai Concentrate

Love a strong chai from infinity to infinity!

Yield: 32 ounces

PREP IT!

  • 1 piece Calabash nutmeg

  • 2 pods Grains of Selim

  • 3 inch Cinnamon stick

  • 8 whole Peppercorns

  • ½ teaspoon Fennel

  • 26 whole Cardamom pods

  • 3 whole Star anise

  • 12 whole Cloves

  • 1 whole Allspice berry

  • 1½ teaspoon Nutmeg, ground

  • 2 inches Ginger, fresh

  • 1 pod Vanilla bean

  • ½ slice Orange, dried

  • 6 pieces Lavender leaf

  • 6 Kenyan black tea bags

  • ½ cup Sugar, granulated (optional)

  • 4 cups (32 ounces water)

MAKE IT!

  1. In a large sauce pot, toast whole spices. Let cool a little bit.

  2. Grind whole spices to a fine powder.

  3. Pour spices back into pot. Add in nutmeg, ginger, vanilla bean pods, orange, lavender leaf, and tea bags.

  4. Bring to a boil and boil for 5-10 minutes until aroma fills the room and water reduces slightly.

  5. Turn off heat and allow to steep for 1 hour while cooling.

  6. Strain contents of pot into a pitcher or air tight container.

  7. Stir in sugar to dissolve if you’re using it.

  8. Enjoy as desired!
